The Almonds (Prunus amygdalus),
are a species of tree native to the Middle East and South Asia. The almonds are
a nutritionally dense food and is a rich source of vitamin E. They are also
rich in dietary fibre, B vitamins, and essential minerals such as magnesium,
copper, manganese, calcium, and potassium as well as monounsaturated fats, fats
which potentially may lower LDL cholesterol.
